Sapropel is slimy sediment formed on the bottom of fresh water standing water bodies (lakes). Sapropel is the cleanest substance in terms of ecology, it has not been contaminated with heavy metals and radionuclides. It has anti-radiation properties.


Sapropel can be organic, siliceous, and carbonaceous. The most useful sapropel is the organic one and it can be used in medicine, stockbreeding for making feed. It is also used in production of lipids, glue, liquid fuel, sorbent.


Sapropel can be used for production of fertilizers, conditioning of the soil, binding temporary sand and turning it into fertile soil. In case of engaging in active gardening and forming garden in the same areas, which is very common in households, the soil looses its good properties. It is sapropel that can restore the content of nutrients and humus in soil. Soil enriched with sapropel will yield copious harvest again and this would be achieved without chemical additives. Sapropel releases nutrients over a long period of time, therefore, after adding the required quantity of sapropel to the soil, you will not need any additional fertilization with organic fertilizers up to 4-5 years.


Due to colloidal structure it takes a long time for sapropel to dry out and it gets very hard when drying naturally. Sapropel contains approximately 85 % of moisture right after extraction. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the moisture content up to 50-60 % in order to use it efficiently. Sapropel gets friable only after freezing or due to using a special technology. Sapropel of such a structure is easy to use and transport.


Whereas our Company specializes in manufacture of peat products, we mostly emphasize the quantity of active substances contained in sapropel. As a result of different formation conditions, these indices in sapropel can vary a great deal. Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to the concentration of substances contained in sapropel. Thus, in case of lower-concentration sapropel, a larger quantity will have to be used in order to achieve the required result in comparison to using sapropel containing a larger quantity of active substances.
